  • We all make choices but the US Supreme Court makes decisions, and few have been weightier than its ruling last week that Barack Obama’s overhaul of America’s deeply flawed health care system is constitutional. Fact: the worlds richest nation is the only industrialized democracy not to provide health care coverage for all its citizens. Obama’s Affordable Care Act(AFA) is not perfect, but it does succeed where presidents since Franklin Roosevelt have tried but failed by closing this gap, and ensuring that those already sick are not blocked from potentially life - saving treatment just because they are poor.
